I am not seeing it in those tarballs, just some documentation that did
not get dropped yet:
./squid-7.1/CREDITS
./squid-7.1/doc/release-notes/release-7.html
./squid-7.1/RELEASENOTES.html
Running the release ./configure produces the correct output:
configure: checking auth/basic helpers: DB LDAP NCSA NIS PAM POP3
RADIUS SASL SMB SSPI fake getpwnam
FTR; Please notice that:
"SMB" is NTLM from the Windows NT / 2000 / XP
- LMCompatibilityLevel registry settings are set to 2 or 3
- deprecated 2025
- still supported by Squid
"SMB_LM" is LanManager, LM, LANMAN and NTLMv1 from DOS / Windows 3.1
/ Win95 / Win98 / Win98 SE
- deprecated 2006
- LMCompatibilityLevel registry settings are set to 1
- dropped by Squid
They are not the same type of credentials encoding. Hence the
LMCompatibilityLevel values, and different helpers.
