Just FYI:
I tried manually upgrading squid to 6.13 on three machines.
The Pre-Depends: caused some troubles, I needed to call dpkg install
multiple times.
Luckily (or unluckily?) squid did not get restarted during during manual
installs, so I only restarted manually after new versions were in place.
I would manually prefer using package like squid-base for common
architecture-dependent files (squid-common is for architecture-independent
files) but that's up to maintainers.
I will try upgrading to debian testing to check how it works.
