AFAICT, the wrapper is buggy[1]. However, this is not my area of
expertise, you may be suffering from other wrapper bugs, and/or problems
other than wrapper bugs may be causing the symptoms you are reporting.

The issue here is memory corruption, most likely due to a bug in some
software. See above for more details.
