If you note the "BUG 3279" is reported by people since 3.2 series. So
3.4 is also seeing it when built and used in the same way. It seems to
be most common on AUFS caches and FreeBSD 9.x using diskd. Made worse
if the upstream servers are HTTP/1.0 or Squid is dealing with cache
corruption from a previous crash.

NOTE: Bug 3279 is not a fatal bug since Squid-3.3, it *just* happens
to get logged alongside the bugs which are from fatal crashes.

Question is where did Squid get this HTTP Response with no Date:
header ? Date is a mandatory header in HTTP.

That also answers your somewhat angry question about how we/I can say
3.5 is stable ...

For Squid the .1 means that all 3.5 related major/critical/blocker
severity bugs in the *new* code got fixed and *no* new 3.5 bugs at all
reported in that new code for the 14 days leading up to the release.
Fact is there are only 4 unresolved bugs so far known in the new 3.5
code and none of them are more than minor annoyances.

Squid-3.5 technically passed those criteria 4 weeks ago, but I made
the call to wait on starting the final 14-day no-new-issues countdown
until Jan when I started seeing people were back from their holidays.

PS. see how I keep stressing _new_ in the criteria for stability? we
know Squid has bugs (hundreds of them, thousands even) in the old code
going back decades. The entire Squid-3.x lifecycle is so far one long
ongoing process of replacing that old buggy code with better tested
and more stable code.
