I do not have a problem dropping RHEL/CentOS 6 support in trunk,
referring to RHEL/CentOS 7, if all the other LTS OS versions we support
can deal with the change you seem to have in mind.

But the discussion should really be based on a change proposal and what
it impacts. The requirement to drop support of old OS versions is a
byproduct of that, not the primary change.
